In Week One of the July School Holidays we will be running our popular drama workshops again! With the kind support of the Creative Communities Scheme, we’re offering two workshops – for 6 – 9 year olds, and 10 – 14 year olds. Each workshop is a self-contained day with a central theme, finishing with a showcase by the kids at 3pm for their parents and caregivers. The students gain confidence, enhancing their communication and teamwork skills through fun games and exercises taught by the experienced Brickworks drama tutors. Details and enrolment information below:
When: Mon 6th – 8th July
Time: 9am – 3.30pm each day
Where: The Chapel (cnr Waipani and Beach Rds), Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland.
*If Covid-19 restrictions are still in place, these workshops will take place online. Watch this space for updates.
What: Workshop Descriptions below…
Monday 06 July: “Drama Olympics” (Improvisation)
Once the whistle blows, our performers will be ready like athletes for a fun day of games and improv activities. Let’s see which group will think the fastest on their feet! And of course FUN will be the winner on the day.
Tuesday 07 July: “Magical Art Gallery” (Physical theatre)
Who said we need to go to the Louvre to see wonderful paintings? The lockdown inspired many to reproduce famous pieces of art with things around the house. At Brickworks we’ll do the same… with a twist: We’ll also create the stories behind the paintings!
Wednesday 08 July: “Ricos Eternos /Endless Riches” (Comedy: Soap-opera inspired)
A glamorous villain; a big surprise; crazy plots; mysterious twins; and a family secret! Join us for a day of big dresses and larger-than-life performances. We’ll create our own soap-opera – Brickworks style!
Cost: $50 per day (single day bookings available).
