Mahy Showcase!

Mahy Showcase – an in-house showing for our Brickworks families inspired by the stories of Margaret Mahy! We are so excited to be bringing you this end of year showing from the Brickworks students on 3rd Dec! We would especially like to thank Helen Ollivier and Wild Things Art for the beautiful set designs, and Tanya Howie for lending us some awesome aprons from Kitchen Kids! Can’t wait to see this all come together!

BRING A FRIEND WEEK

Bring a friend (of the appropriate age) along to the class you are enrolled in. This is a great opportunity for all children who might like to try being ‘dramatic’ (on stage… and maybe in real life, why not?!!) but are not sure what it’s like and what to expect from it.

See you on the stage!

Term Two is all about “Improv”!

This term at Brickworks we’re focussing on Improvisation skills across all our classes. Improv is all about creating characters and scenarios on the spot – no rehearsals! It’s a fantastic way for your child to learn to overcome their fear of “getting it wrong” (getting it wrong in improv can be so much fun!); to build on their teamwork skills; to explore their imagination; to gain confidence in public speaking; and to become more flexible with their ideas. Plus it’s a super fun way to spend an hour with your friends – no screens required! We still have a few spots available in some classes, and we’re looking forward to another fun term at Brickworks Drama School!

Free Holiday Workshops!

Brickworks is offering free “Drama Games for Storytellers” sessions these school holidays! Te Atatu Peninsula Library: Mon 18th and Tue 26th April, 2:00pm – 3:00pm. 4 – 14 yr olds. Hope to see you there!
