Workshop Descriptions
Tue 18 April – “Transformers” (Physical Theatre)
Workshop A: 6 – 9 years / Workshop B: 10 – 15 years
We explore movement and physicality to transform our bodies into new characters and objects. We can be anyone and go anywhere!
Wed 19 April – “Whose Line Is It!” (Improvisation)
Workshop A: 6 – 9 years / Workshop B: 10 – 15 years
Through improvisation games and exercises we learn to think on our feet, work together and trust the moment. You’ll be surprised at the stories we come up with!
Thurs 20 April – “LOL” (Fun with Comedy)
Workshop A: 6 – 9 years / Workshop B: 10 – 15 years
We explore different sub-genres of comedy such as physical comedy, farce, satire and stand-up. We help students find their comedy comfort zone, then they create scenes and sketches they think are funny! It’s a special day where each student finds out what comedy means to them.
Fri 21 April – “Tales of the Pacific” (Storytelling)
Workshop A: 6 – 9 years / Workshop B: 10 – 15 years
Respected writer / actor / director Antonia Kamu (Stehlin) will guide the students through a Pasifika story, working with music and movement. The students become storytellers and share their devised work with us at the end of the day.
