We have an exciting series of workshops lined up for the first week of the July school holidays. Go to our School Holiday Page to read more and book!
Kia ora koutou Brickworks Drama families,
We hope you are well and safe in your bubbles. Due to Auckland’s Level 3 restrictions, we can’t run drama classes in person this week. Instead, we will return to drama on Zoom, or “Drooming” as we called it last time around!
We have figured out ways to connect and have fun over Zoom, so do encourage you and your child to give it a go with us this Wednesday, at your normal drama class time. And let’s hope we’ll be back together again at The Chapel next week!
The link to your class has been emailed to you 🙂
Please set your child up in a space where they can jump and move, and stay close by to help your child with the technology.
Email us at brickworksdrama@gmail.com if you are having any trouble joining us on the day.
Ngā mihi,
Lauren and Natascha
Enrolments for Term One 2021 are now open! Our theme this term is Physical Theatre, and we will be exploring storytelling through movement. With this hot weather we will be blasting the fans, so wear comfy clothes and bring your water bottles! Current students will be automatically re-enrolled. New students – please register and enrol at: https://enrolmy.com/brickworks-drama-school
2020 has brought challenges, but also some highlights we want to share before the year is over! Brickworks Drama School shot its first film – “Search for the Selfish Elves” – with support from Creative Communities and the Henderson-Massey Local Board. We collaborated with Wild Things Art School (with funding from Creative New Zealand’s “Creatives in Schools” grant) to offer a drama-art workshop series at Te Atatu Intermediate School, exploring the theme “Being Seen”. And we worked via Zoom to complete our first international collaboration – “Racconti italiani di Natale 2020 – Italian Christmas Tales 2020”. Italian director, Gianluca Barbadori, directed some of our students in the reading of these short stories, with support from Istituto Italiano di Cultura Sydney and the Italian Embassy. Looking forward to more adventures through drama in 2021! Ngā mihi o te tau hou ![]()

Meri Kirihimete Brickworks Whānau! Wishing you a safe and happy festive season! We’ll be running drama workshops for one week in January: Mon 18th – Fri 22nd Jan. Individual day bookings are available and we will open enrolments before the New Year (and post again to let you know).
And here’s what’s making us laugh this Christmas – the SNL “Mom Got a Robe” sketch. It’s not too late to avoid this scenario, people!

In Week Two of the October School Holidays we will be running our popular drama workshops again! With the kind support of the Creative Communities Scheme, we’re offering two workshops – for 6 – 9 year olds, and 10 – 14 year olds. Each workshop is a self-contained day with a central theme, finishing with a showcase by the kids at 3pm for their parents and caregivers. The students gain confidence, enhancing their communication and teamwork skills through fun games and exercises taught by the experienced Brickworks drama tutors.
For more info and to enrol, please go to our October School Holiday Workshops page.
Kia ora koutou Brickworks whānau,
We’re excited to share with you this six week course we’ve created for Term Two! (Info on how to enrol at the bottom of the email.)

Julie’s Greenroom – an adorable show for drama kids in lockdown. Puppets stage their own musical under the watchful eye of mentor Julie Andrews in this original kids’ series from the Jim Henson Company – available on Netflix. And… their Facebook page is full of fun ideas and activities.
Check it out, Brickworks whānau!
xx Lauren and Natascha
